Release Info
In the last 10+ years, few labels can match the quality output of Peanuts & Corn. This dedication to music making and hip-hop is the main theme of Craftsmen, a high energy recording featuring 15 tracks of mastery on the beats and rhymes.
Park-Like Setting was born in 1999, as mcenroe was looking for a new rhyme partner after the hiatus of Farm Fresh. He chose John Smith, then an up and comer on the Winnipeg Hip-Hop scene, and they released School Day 2, Garbage Day 4 in 2000. Five years later, they have firmly established their solo careers with disenfranchised, the convenience ep, Pinkys Laundromat and Blunderbus. They decided to add a third MC to the group, Yy, who is the newest member of the Break Bread crew and really starting to hit his stride as a recording artist. After writing and recording demos in fall of 2004, they came up with the Craftsmen concept.
mcenroes beats set the tone for the record from the moment it begins - dark and dirty with big, banging drums. Crasftmen is edgier than any P&C release before it. The tone is Put up or shut up, no self pity. Barbie Doll Eyes is a look at the Extreme Makeover fad, Short Pants Long Sleeves a dedicatoin to fall, and Eight Bars Each a 9 member posse cut featuring Pip Skid, Birdapres, Cadence Weapon, Evil, Gruf and Satchill Paige.
Fans of P&C have been eagerly waiting for this record since it was announced in summer of 2004, and they will be feeling this one.
Coming soon to the P&C Store!
