Break Bread EP Release date: October 19, 2004 As a group of mcs that have worked together for so long, it is surprising that it is only now that Break Bread decided to do a release as a super group. The crew was formed officially in 1999 with a posse cut on fermented reptiles lets just call you quits, and has since expanded to 6 members. Break Bread consists of mcenroe, Pipi Skid, John Smith, Gruf, Hunnicutt and Yy. They are also known as members of their various groups: Farm Fresh, Park-Like Setting, fermented reptile and Hip-Hop Wieners. Collectively these six individuals are responsible for over 25 albums and eps in the last 10 years, and represent 6 of the most talented and respected artists that Canada has to offer. This recording was written and recorded during mcenroes last Christmas visit to Winnipeg in 2003. Each mc was responsible for a concept on one song, and the others were to stick to that concept. The result is a tight, cohesive EP that shows the skill and fun side of P&C instead of the darker personal or political solo material. These tracks are bangers, from the back and forth play of the Hunnicutt produced We Make Noise to the one-upmanship of No Other MC. Production is handled primarily by mcenroe, with Hunnicutt producing one track and of course adding turntable magic throughout. Hip-Hop fans will love the energy and fun of this EP, and they may look at the P&C mcs in a new light. Release Date: Octpber 19. 2004 Release Sheet: coming soon |
