Peanuts & Corn celebrate their 10th anniversary by issuing an exciting new compilation of tracks spanning their first 5 years. This collection features some of the pioneers of the Winnipeg, Manitoba hip-hop scene over golden age production by Roddy Rod (now known as mcenroe).

Farm Fresh was the first group for P&C’s own mcenroe, Pipi Skid and Hunnicutt. They have previously released a collection of their cassettes on 1999’s “Played Out”, however this compilation features 5 more tracks that were not included on that release. These include “Matlock” - a crowd favorite about everyone’s favorite attorney, “Pay Attention” - which was recorded at the same time as their debut “Space EP”, “Smooth And Easy” which was recorded at the same time as “Crazy Friction”, Next Stop and Freshest Out. As an innovative Manitoba group, fans will be very excited to hear these tracks.

Mood Ruff is one of Winnipeg’s most widely known groups, with their numerous videos and appearances on Much Music. Featured here are tracks from their first two albums, Maxim and Fluid, recorded in 1995 and 1996, respectively.

Different Shades of Black (now just Shadez) also have become well known for their videos and quality vinyl releases. Featured here are 5 tracks from their time on P&C. Fans of grimy, mid-90s underground hip-hop like Black Moon or DITC will definitely be feeling these tracks!

This compilation features an in-depth timeline and track breakdown by mcenroe, who recorded, mixed, mastered, dubbed and sold these original cassettes while attending college in the mid 90’s. Fans of mcenroe, Pipi Skid, P&C, Mood Ruff, Shadez, golden age hip-hop or good music in general should not sleep on this release!
