Pipi Skid - Funny Farm Release date: Feb 2004 Peanuts & Corn mainstay Pipi Skid (aka Pip Skid aka Wicked Nut of Farm Fresh and fermented reptile) has returned with his long awaited followup to 2001s Friends4Ever. Whereas that album was a highly collaborative effort (featuring numerous producers and dozens of emcess), Funny Farm is a very personal and private recording, with a more personal writing style and all tracks produced by mcenroe, who is also the albums only guest vocalist. Pipi Skid is known for his energetic live show and furious writing style, with a highly political style from the perspective of the frustrated working class. This album continues in this direction, with tracks such as WMD (History Will Not Forgive the War In Iraq), These Colors Dont Run (I Aint Down With that United We Stand), Pip Skizzy (You Smell Like Mcdonalds and WalMart), 5:20 AM (I Dont want to punch no f*&%ing clock, but who does?). Another theme of the album is loneliness and isolation, as found on tracks such as Funny Farm, Jealousy, Secrets, and Alone Again (which has a video which is included on the CD). These themes continue the personal, honest style which has made P&C famous, but again this is offset with humorous tracks such as Germ Warfare, Magnifique and Super Dope Producers. The album was recorded in August of 2003, and produced entirely by mcenroe. Once again, P&Cs super dope producer reaches into his bag of beats and comes up with some bangers. This record was mixed to make your head nod, and Pipis delivery and presence are better than ever. - Video for Alone Again sent to Much Music and included on the CD-ROM of this release in Quicktime format.
