New P&C Downloads - January 2008
By mcenroe

Here are a few treats for y'all. I am pretty excited about some of these newly available recordings, so check them out. Get them in the P&C store.

Roddy B - All Types Of Hype (2004 Demos)
I started working on this record back in 2003 or 2004. I had found some really simple, funky breaks, and wanted to write some basic, non-topical good time raps. I called it Roddy B and worked it into my live set. These are demo versions of the seven songs I was working on at the time. I never did my formal recordings for an LP, and wouldn't feel right about re-recording them 4 years later. So rather than letting them sit and collect digital dust, I am releasing them here for you. I have also included a couple of remixes I put together using beats I had earmarked for this project, one featuring mcenroe & Birdapres, one featuring Break Bread. Finally I have included a (sort of) live version of one of the Roddy B tracks that I did at a CBC Radio 3 session in Vancouver with DJ Grasshopper.

Peanuts & Corn 7 Inch Collection Plus
Included here are the complete recordings from Pip Skid - Money Matters 7" and John Smith - High Arctics 7". They have previously only been available on 7 inch vinyl, and not a very good pressing at that. The Pip Skid record was done in 2002 and the John Smith record was done in 2003, before either Funny Farm or Pinky's Laundromat. I am happy with a lot of this, especially "Being Broke", "Math", and all of the High Arctics recording. Also included are several tracks we produced around that time for various compilations, including an alternate version of "Safety In Numbers", the vocal version of "One More Tomorrow" with Birdapres, another Pip Skid tracks called "The Illest", and finally "Psychology Part II" which is a Park-Like Setting track, probably recorded when we did Blunderbus. The version sent to the comilation only had the brief John Smith verse, this version has a couple of long, rambling verses by yours truly.

Farm Fresh - Time Is Running Out
Listen to this album, people. I have a whole column in my head about this record and how good I think it is, but I will save that for another day. This album was very slept on, and I think you should check it out.

mcenroe - the convenience ep
My 2002 ep. Love the first two songs.

Peanuts & Corn - Fall 2003
Includes two very good tracks - "Man Of The People" by John Smith (produced by Hunnicutt, with a remix by me) and "Pay Your Dues" by mcenroe and Birdapres from the Nothing Is Cool era. Includes instrumentals.

mcenroe - Steak Dinner Breaks
Beats from both 7 inch singles, plus the Summer 2002 non-album tracks. Check the "Blow Me Away" instrumental! Also includes a nice Hunnicutt break mix.

mcenroe presents Growing Pains Instrumentals
mcenroe presents Get It Done Instrumentals
I am very proud of these beats. All tracks from John Smith's Growing Pains LP and Birdapres' Get It Done LP.
